Startin' off the season right

Last Friday I spent the night chillin' at my buddy Joe's place, watching That's It That's All for the umpteenth time. I can watch that video over and over without getting sick of it. That goes for a lot of the other video releases from this year, but I digress. The point is we were getting stoked for the next day - Day 1 of our 08/09 season.

On Saturday morning Paul, Mike, Joe and I headed out early(read: what we thought was early) at 7:30 on Saturday morning and upon arrival at Horseshoe Resort(It was a toss up between Horseshoe and MSLM) we were greeted by a MASSIVE lift ticket lineup. Clearly we weren't the only ones craving snow. Only 3 runs were open and the park had limited features but you could see that everyone was having a great time, no doubt partially due to the blue bird weather. At one point the chairlift stopped working for a significant amount of time. Everyone started hiking the hill, but mainly towards the park. It was somewhat surreal. Sessioning the big picnic table/2-tier box jib at the park brought back fond memories not experienced in the last 8 months. We all threw down a few more tricks and called it an early day at 1:30. It's good to be back.

On Sunday morning, though I was sore from the previous day's events, I still had this desire to go search for more snow. Steve came by in the morning to get in a quick wax job on his new deck[It's A Capita if you're wondering] and shortly after we drove out to Dagmar Resort in Ashburn, Ontario. We sessioned the park for a good 3 hours. I bit it hard a few times but still managed to nail a few switch box tricks, which I've never attempted in the past, so I chalk that up as another successful day. I should have brought a camera.

I'm terribly sore now, with aches and bruises in multiple places, but I can already feel my body recovering in time for this coming weekend. Maybe I'll keep up with a "Tour D'Ontario" and hit up MSLM or Blue this weekend.
