Rome 390s!!!

My last binding mishap has led me to look elsewhere for the perfect binding. My next pair should perform better than any of my previous sets. The forward lean of the Cartels were too aggressive for my liking, and the SPX Pro's were riddled with problems, including slipping cap straps, broken straps, loose hardware, and inefficient adjustment techniques; a hex key and screwdriver are required for adjustments rather than just one phillips head. After scouring the internet for deals and reading up on different company sites I debated long and hard to make my final decision.

Enter the Rome 390 binding, purchased from Empire. This is last year's model, but I can certainly tell you it will perform just as well as this years release. From comparisons of their latest upgrades it isn't technically too different. The only upgrades are more padding on the ankle strap(which was already sufficiently padded), and the new autostrap technology(cool bonus), which pulls the strap out of your way when stepping in to strap in.

After riding these for the last 2 months I can certainly say that I made a great purchase. Everything is dialed in to my liking and nothing malfunctions. The expanding cap strap conforms to your boot whether you prefer it on top or in front. The combined metal/nylon chassis is quite solid and I like the extras, which include the disk covers, the quick rachets, and the rubber gasket that not only provides more dampening, but also protects my board's topsheet. What more can I say, I love these bad boys!

SPX's, consider yourself dumped!
